A truck driver from Eastern Europe who was leaving to deliver refrigerated products to the regional platform of Lidl stores, got lost in the narrow streets of Montgaillard-Lauragais. He was stuck for seven hours.
The driver of a refrigerated semi-trailer truck, registered in Lithuania, experienced a strange mishap on Monday, October 10, in a village of 750 inhabitants in Laurentians. He delivered food products to the regional large-scale distribution platform Lidl located in the neighboring town of Baziège. It was blocked Monday for nearly 7 hours, in the heart of Montgaillard-Lauragais, a village located about forty kilometers south-east of Toulouse.
During his maneuver, the driver, probably a little lost, damaged a house in the village.
In a statement of dissatisfaction, the municipality of Montgaillard deplores this recurring situation of service practiced by truck drivers: “Since the installation of the LIDL platform in Baziège, it is not uncommon to see trucks with trailers passing on the RD97D in save a few minutes on the journey instead of going through the RD813 or the motorway. Crossing the village of Montgaillard-Lauragais is absolutely not possible for heavy goods vehicles. is made up of small streets three meters wide and a few angles rights incompatible with the circulation of such vehicles ”.
Faced with this situation, the town hall has taken steps to ban the passage of heavy goods vehicles in the village from now on.
