This is Kelly Fontaine, a resident of Oissel, near Rouen (Seine-Maritime) who sounded the alarm. In a disused building on avenue Saint-Julien – the Oissel dovecote – ” pigeons were locked up without water or food from Wednesday October 6 until Tuesday October 12, 2021 ″, deplores Kelly Fontaine, who has alerted the town hall on several occasions to the situation of these birds.
Kelly Fontaine also called on Chêne, the Allouville-Bellefosse wildlife conservation center. “The town hall came to open them yesterday morning [mardi 12 octobre, ndlr], I was present. Pigeons came out but then they referred, indicates this Osselienne. When I went back there, I saw baby pigeons still the fences which were still blocked. “

Outraged, the citizen again appealed to the town hall and the injured baby pigeons were recovered by the Chêne association. “We hosted four of them, two were really in bad shape,” notes Le Chêne. There must have been nests and the cubs must have jumped out of the nest and hurt themselves. This Wednesday, they are all pretty well, but you have to wait and see a few days to be sure. “
The town hall explains that it is obliged to confirm the abandoned places. “The company that burned the building must not have seen that there were birds inside,” indicates the town hall. But as soon as we got the alert, the services were negotiated and the birds were released. “
For her part, Kelly Fontaine will remain vigilant for these little birds that she seems to be particularly fond of.
