GC “Russian Crab” for 9 months has mastered 79% of quotas for crab catch in the Far East basin
9.9 thousand tons of crab harvested
In January-September 2021, the Russian Crab Group of Companies mastered 79% of its quotas for the production of crab in the Far Eastern Basin, which corresponds to the corresponding level of the period last year. According to the press service of the Group of Companies, the company retains its leadership in terms of catch among the region’s crab fishermen, its figure as of the reporting date reached 9.9 thousand tons.
In September-September 2021, the Russian Crab group exported 6.85 thousand tons of products. This is 8% more than in the same period last year. In the all-Russian export of crab, the company’s share was up to 14% (+ 1% p.p. by 9 months of 2020).
“The most capacious markets for the company are Chinese products and the USA – for boiled and frozen products. Since the beginning of the year, the volume of supplies to these countries amounted to 3.4 thousand rubles. tons and 2.1 thousand tons of crab, respectively. The high consumption capacity of these importing countries increases the impact on the premium crabs market. In particular, Japanese buyers have increased their imports of our products fivefold this year, ”said Vladimir Tulupov, Advisor to the General Director for Commercial Activities and Marketing of the Russian Crab Group of Companies.
As part of the investment implementation of the Keel Quota Program, the shipyards continue to build ships of the new fleet of the Russian Crab GC. In July, the keel-laying of the fourth of seven vessels of the 5712LS series, intended for catching and transporting live crab, took place at the Onega Shipyard; in August, metal was cut for the fifth vessel. At Okskaya Shipyard, work continues on the formation of hulls for three 5712P crab-processors.
