Emmanuel Macron announces the construction of 5,000 local sports facilities
Emmanuel Macron is in Seine-Saint-Denis this Thursday, October 11, 2021. A trip to discuss the preparation for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris in 2024. The Head of State will first go to Tremblay-en-France to visit the new city-stadium of the municipality, then in Saint-Ouen on the site of the future Olympic village before ending his visit to the headquarters of the Paris 2024 organizing committee in Saint-Denis.
250 million euros released over three years
Emmanuel Macron should take advantage of this trip to announce the construction of 5,000 local sports facilities, like the city-stadium he will visit in Tremblay, but also gymnasiums and basketball courts for example. A budget of 250 million euros will be released to launch the creation of this equipment but also to renovate others.
Visit of the future Olympic village
The facilities will be built as a priority in rural areas and priority areas of the city, especially in Seine-Saint-Denis, the department where many sites are being built for the future Olympic Games, starting with the village which will host thousands of athletes. It is one of the largest projects currently underway in the country, which ultimately mobilizes 4,000 jobs.

However, this village and these Olympic Games of Paris 2024 are not unanimous. Several inhabitants of 93 and associations denounce an excessive “concreting” of their territory.
Gala match
At the end of the afternoon, Emmanuel Macron is expected in Poissy (Yvelines) to participate in the gala match marking the 50th anniversary of the Variétés Club de France. The proceeds will be donated to the Fondation Hôpitaux de Paris-Hôpitaux de France, to be collected by his wife Brigitte. In particular, the 1998 world champions Laurent Blanc, Christian Karembeu and Robert Pires, the former Blues Alain Giresse and Dominique Rocheteau, and the tennis player Richard Gasquet are announced.
