Buses in Genoa, the new axes of public transport depart from the workshops
Pending the ok from Rome for electric vehicles, the Municipality publishes tenders to renew the deposits. First Valbisagno with a 67 million euro match for Staglieno and Gavette. Then it will be the turn of Carlini
Genoa – A 67 million euro super-contract to carry out the new Amt remittances in Staglieno and at Gavette, and also an interchange parking lot about 700 places above the future warehouse in via Bobbio.
It was published on Wednesday by the City the call for tenders to contract the executive design and works of these interventions, which represent the first step to implement the project of four new strengths of urban public transport (for the Levante, the Ponente, the Center and the Valbisagno). A project on which, however, the uncertainty of the technology of the vehicles still remains, because the Ministry of Transport has not yet responded to the request made by the Municipality to be able to use the latest generation electric buses, instead of the trolleybuses provided for by the project that the Ministry has financed with approximately 471 million. In September the municipal administration had been entrusted with an external technician to obtain the report presented for the nulla osta for the change of technology, but the meeting that took place in Rome has not yet resolved this knot. “The timing of the ministry does not comment on us, we can only get the answer as soon as possible by the municipal councilor for mobility Matteo Campora – In today’s meeting (yesterday, ed) we focused on the question of competitions and lots in which subdivide the works. And, in the meantime, we are moving forward, and we have just published the first call for tenders for remittances ».
The object of this contract, worth approximately 67 million, is the executive design and the construction of the works necessary to adapt the two remittances to the new transport system. The contract includes all civil works and systems, with the exception of the axis electrification system, which, moreover, must be adapted to the technology chosen for the vehicles.
Demolitions and reconstructions
In via Bobbio, in Staglieno, the total demolition of the existing garage is planned, to build a new one with an adjoining building for services, and all the necessary systems including a photovoltaic system. And a multi-storey public interchange car park will be built on the roof of the garage, with about 700 parking spaces, serving both the inhabitants of the area and motorists arriving from outside the city, since it is located near the Genoa east motorway exit. .
Demolition and reconstruction will also concern the Gavette garage, where the construction of an equipped public green roof on the roof is also planned, and the arrangement of the square in front of the garage.
Next step is the remittance to the Carlini
The deadline for submitting offers will expire on November 17, and whoever wins the contract will have 90 days to complete the executive design, from the signing of the contract. Within 45 days’ approval of the project available, the works will be delivered in 1548 just over 4 years from the last. Times and costs, however, may also be significantly reduced, if whoever wins the contract makes an improvement offer, from an economic and technical point of view, compared to the tender basis. «In the meantime, the final design of the new garage at the Carlini he was born in interchange parking that will be built in Quarto», Explains the commissioner Campora. This should, in fact, be another batch of interventions within the four axes project. The new garage will be built under the Carlini, which will be completely rebuilt, replacing the one initially planned in via delle Campanule, in Quarto, where the project had aroused the harsh protests of the residents. In Quarto, near the area that was used for the new Amt depot, an interchange parking will be built, also designed to serve vehicles exiting the Nervi motorway exit.
