“The success against San Marino? There was a desire for redemption. Ready for matches “
The women’s Serie B championship started a few days ago, but this year making predictions is really not easy. The level of the teams is high, with well-equipped staff to win the place in Serie A. Among these there is also the Como Women, fresh from a season, not so positive, as in the premise. Ilnapolionline.com interviewed the forward of the Lombard club Greta Di Luzio.
Important success on the field of the San Marino Academy for 1-2 on Sunday. Could you tell us about the match and your three-point goal? “It was an important direct match, our desire for redemption after the game we lost at home against Brescia. In the San Marino Academy, among other things, I played with it and I knew of its value on a technical and environmental level. The match was difficult, we knew it, but we had a good match. My goal? Everything was born from an inactive ball and I made the most of the situation. I’m sorry on the one hand, but now I play with Como Women and I try to give my best with the new team ”.
Returning to the topic of the San Marino Academy, do you notice the differences on an environmental level compared to Como Women? “I owe a lot to the San Marino Academy, an environment that made me grow from a professional and human point of view. The square is very passionate and this was seen before Covid-19. It is important to have seen the people on the pitch again, because cheering is important for us players. On Como Women I am happy with the choice, because it is an ambitious club with a desire to do. Too bad for last season, where at a certain point the compactness was lacking. The arrival of the new coach and his staff has put things back in order and there is a desire to do well, knowing that it will not be easy to go up to Serie A “.
I wanted to ask you about women’s football in Lombardy which is growing year by year. What do you think depended on these steps forward? “Assuming that there have always been strong teams and very ambitious clubs in Lombardy, the results are there for all to see. Certainly there is a great desire on the part of the clubs to aim for the maximum, working on the youth sectors and which have led the teams to obtain results. Now the men’s clubs have been added that have given visibility to the movement, in Serie A but also in B. Between Inter, Milan, Brescia, Como, Pro Sesto and Cortefranca have been added, in short, the promises are all there ”.
In a year’s time, women’s football will also turn professional in Italy, as Sibilia has made official. What are your expectations? “It will be an important step for our movement, because there will be the right visibility for all of us players. In Italy there are still too many prejudices and preconceptions that have not been completely defeated. I hope that once we have climbed this important step, our efforts will be able to be rewarded and to bring us closer, at ease, even to foreign clubs. I am convinced that it will come to this, but now one step at a time and then we will see what to do “.
In your role as striker, which have always been your models in the male and female? “In the men’s sphere, being a Milan fan, without a shadow of a doubt Ibrahimovic. A great champion on and off the pitch, he has truly shown, in all the teams he has played with, to be unique in his role. As a Rossoneri I am happy that you play with us and will be able to make your contribution as always. In the feminine, it is not easy, I could tell you many, which I admire and appreciate, but it is not easy to name everyone “.
What are the expectations of the matches against Cesena and Chievo Verona Women? “On Sunday we will face Cesena, as you said, for the Italian Cup. The recovery of 24, however, will not be played, again against Cesena, due to the commitments of our 4 national teams. Chievo Verona Women will be at home on October 31st and it will not be an easy challenge. In general, for the women’s Serie B championship, making predictions is not easy. Since there is only one place to go up to A, it will not be easy at all to reach the finish line. Even the races must be faced with the right mentality and we will take the field to always get the best, but it will take the right spirit to succeed ”.
