Portugal voted best country in the world by Condé Nast Traveler
Portugal continues to arouse high interest among travelers, despite the progressive 18 months it was tourists who ventured into Portuguese lands. But with the pandemic under control and strict rules to guarantee the health security of citizens, Portugal appears as a highly desirable destination. This is now proven with the election of Portugal as the best country in the world by readers of Condé Nast Traveller magazine.
The Readers’ Choice Award of the publication concept, which this year counted on the participation of around 800 thousand readers, arrived in the country in the form of two awards: best country in the world and best hotel in Portugal and Spain.
According to Condé Nast Traveller, Portugal “is getting better and better, with a growing appreciation not only of the beaches, but also of food and wine, which is why it was distinguished with the Best Country in the World award.
The award for Best Hotel in Spain and Portugal went to São Lourenço do Barrocal, in Alentejo, which second grade to Condé Nast Traveller offers “a serene time in a wild and evocative landscape”.

According to the publication, reader responses are proof that they “are eager to travel”, with the majority saying they “would like to take more trips now than ever before”.
