Portugal 2020 should reach 72% execution this year
“ANDIn 2020, the data collected up to August confirm the continuity of the trajectory of acceleration of execution, with an increase of 34% compared to the same period of 2020, with the prospect of meeting the execution target of 16% in 2021 (which will correspond to a rate of execution of 72%) “, reads the document delivered on Monday in parliament.
These results are boosted by the extraordinary measures implemented, which include the flexibility and acceleration of payments, the opening of competitions within the scope of covid-19 and the launch of the Apoiar Programme.
By the end of 2022, the implementation of Portugal 2020 is expected to reach 88%.
In turn, Portugal 2030 was chosen to be implemented in 2022, foreseeing that, in this first year, “levels of execution compatible with the need to boost the economy in the post-pandemic phase” will be observed.
According to the latest bulletin of European Union funds, with information reported until the end of June, an execution rate for Portugal 2020 is 64%, with emphasis on the Rural Development Program, with three operational programs below 50% .
With a global allocation of around 26 billion euros, the Portugal 2020 program is a partnership agreement between Portugal and the European Commission, “the programming principles and priorities for the economic, social and territorial development policy are not established. of Portugal, between 2014 and 2020”.
The first calls for the PT 2020 program were opened in 2015.
On Monday night, the Government delivered to the Assembly of the Republic the proposal for OE2022, which foresees that the Portuguese economy will grow 4.8% in 2021 and 5.5% in 2022.
In the document, the executive estimates that the deficit of national public accounts should be 4.3% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2021 and drop to 3.2% in 2022, also predicting that the Portuguese unemployment rate will decrease to 6.5% next year, “reaching the lowest value since 2003”.
The first parliamentary debate process of OE2022 will take place between October 22nd and 27th, the day on which the general vote will be taken. The final global vote is scheduled for November 25, at the Portuguese Parliament in Lisbon.
