MPs newcomers from South Moravia: You can find out the current functions, it sounds mostly
We are circling some voters from the lower positions and sent them unexpectedly to the House. Others were almost certain the election due to their high position on the candidate, only a coincidence could deprive them of the seat. After the parliamentary elections, the South Moravians are held by twelve newcomers. Many of them will combine deputies with the current function in municipal politics or hospitals.
At least for the time being, the mayor of Brno’s Černovice, Petra Quittová, will be sitting on two chairs at the weekend’s surprise. In the south of Moravia, she became the jumper of the elections, when she jumped from twelfth place thanks to eleven thousand votes to third. “I plan to combine the functions of mayor and MP for the time being. I will definitely not be the first or last in this. The appointment of a parliamentary mandate is definitely not on the agenda, “said Quitt, who is a member of the Mayors and the Independents.
The mayor of Radějov in the Hodonín region, Martin Hájek, won even more preferential votes than Quittová on the same candidates. He’s not going to leave this chair either. However, he is considering giving up his vacant positions and remaining only an unreleased mayor. “We could pay another unreleased deputy mayor for the money saved. We have to discuss the situation at the nearest municipal council, “outlined Hájek.
Mayors Jiří Horák, Miroslav Zborovský and Jana Bačíková, together with the councilor of Brno-center Maria Jílková, came to the Chamber of Deputies from the region for the Coalition Together. They unanimously plan to lead their municipality or city until the municipal elections, which take place in a year. “It is not easy to leave a year before the end of the four-year period and the projects in progress, for which there are subsidies, are in some stages and in which I have committed myself to being successfully completed,” explained Zborovský, who rules in Tešany in the Brno region. He will not run for mayor again.
Horák will remain mayor of Bučovice in the Vyškov region even after obtaining a parliamentary mandate. However, the need for another candidacy to head the town hall next year has yet to be decided. “In any case, I resign from the position of regional representative. After all, I announced this before the elections, “Horák confirmed on Monday.
WITHOUT ORDER FROM HUMAN MANAGEMENT
Horák, Zborovský and Jílková are members of the People’s Party, which form one of the three parties Together. Their party leadership does not instruct them to choose only one of the functions. “For municipal politicians, who have the last year left, it seems perfectly fair to let it go to the next municipal elections. However, the deputy will not defend the mandate from the point of view of a vacant position. Eventually, it will only remain in the council, “said Petr Hladík, the national deputy chairman of the People’s Party.
On the contrary, two directors of district hospitals in the region will approach the accumulation of positions. Lidovec Antonín Tesařík has already decided to leave the head of the facility in Hodonín at the end of the year. “I thought about it a long time ago. My conclusion is that it is not possible to sit on two chairs in such a way that one fully performs what one has gained the trust of the voters, “Tesařík explained this weekend.
His colleague from nearby Kyjov, Lubomír Wenzl, who will work in the colors of the YES movement in the Chamber of Deputies, intends to perform both functions simultaneously. “It simply came to our notice then. I’ll see what it’s all about. At the moment, I remain the director and the deputy. I will be even more committed than I am used to, “said Wenzl.
Representation of several simultaneous contributions at the same time usually mainly among new deputies according to political science Michal Pinek as a rule. “Cumulation is not regulated in the Czech conditions, so it is quite widespread,” he explained.
At least in the past, the individual parties approached the accumulation of functions differently. For example, the Social Democrats have agreed that their members cannot serve as governor and MP at the same time. It concerned, for example, Michal Hašek. Years ago, he preferred the governor’s office to deputies. “In other parties, cumulation was not much resolved, for example, Jiří Mihola used to belong to politicians with three or four seats, similarly Stanislav Juránek or even Hašek,” Pink described.
After the last parliamentary elections, four South Moravian novices held concurrent positions. Three were from YES and one from ODS. Due to the mandate in the Chamber of Deputies, she did not resign as Deputy Governor of South Moravia after the election of Taťána Malá. In the same way, Pavel Staněk and David Štolpa continued to serve on the councils of Brno and Znojmo, respectively. The Civic Democrat Jiří Ventruba remained the Deputy Mayor of Modřice near Brno.
