Marseille hosts the largest fire station in France
They come to our aid and save our homes and forests, but this time they get together for a big party. Marseille is hosting the 127th edition of the firefighters’ congress this year: the Grande Caserne, which will be held from this Wednesday until Saturday, mainly at Parc Chanot but also on J4 and the Delort stadium.
Canceled last year due to the health crisis, the 127th edition of the National Congress of Firefighters of France begins this Wednesday. This historic congress is organized in 3 emblematic places of the Phocaean city: the Great barracks in Chanot park, the J4 esplanade for the “Norbert Savornin” nautical village, and the Delort stadium for sporting events. 350 exhibitors, 3,000 delegates and 100,000 visitors are expected
Organized by the UnionPompiers13 with the Pompiers13, this event reflects the particularity of the Bouches-du-Rhône department, whose territory is defended by firefighters and marine firefighters. The congress brings together dozens of exhibitors, notably under the sign of innovation but also events, exhibitions and demonstrations, to discover all the facets of the firefighters’ commitment. It will also be an opportunity to conduct a more political, more federal reflection on the subjects of the future in order to build the civil security of tomorrow.
A Large Barracks Unprecedented, historic, the large barracks will open its doors in Parc Chanot, with 10 sectors.
On the program: machines and a maneuver tower, a switchboard and rooms, and of course a barracks guard, made up of firefighters13 and sailor-firefighters. But the Great Barracks will also be a barracks for the old ones with an exhibition of old machines, a pitchouns barracks for children, and above all many exhibitions and activities that will bring Parc Chanot to life for four days.
For the more athletic, sports events and events will be on the program, whether at Parc Chanot or at the Delort stadium with, in particular, football and rugby tournaments to assist the French firefighters.
Finally, prevention and training will be on the agenda through preventive stands and training workshops in life-saving actions which will be offered on the various Congress sites.
