“We are in crisis right now. The health crisis has turned into an economic crisis. We have sovereignty issues and everyone has spoken. We need to regain competitiveness and attractiveness to bring people back into the industry. It will take a decade or more, but it is necessary. Above all, we must show that these jobs in industry are a real opportunity for everyone, especially for young people. This morning we are welcoming 400 schoolchildren, from the 3rd to the engineering classes. The modern technologies of French Tec are for young people the games they have at home. They could have exciting careers by having daily activities that they like to do at home (virtual reality, drones, robots …) This will bring enormous power of attraction to the industry in the years to come.
The industry has evolved for a long time and we have to show it to young people. Old mistaken images take a long time to come out of people’s minds. Now, when you go to industries, it mostly looks like laboratories. The workshops are clean and automated. We are very much of the image that people have of factories.
I think the Covid is going to trigger a lot of things. Young people will tell themselves that they must look outside and think outside the box. We are working a lot with the world of education to make a difference.
This afternoon we will receive another audience: job seekers.
30 companies will be there to offer 150 jobs in Dijon and its surroundings. We want to make them understand that even if they think they are not qualified, if they hesitate: they have to come and see us. We are there to create bridges and provide them with real jobs.
When you look at what happens in the world every time there is a strong economy, it’s because there is a strong industry behind it. Industry in France must become a national priority. Our job is to relay the message during the presidential election, but I think everyone understands that the industry is essential and that it participates in the development of the territory. When you walk through the countryside and see brownfields and villages, it is often because of industries that have been abandoned. “
Océane Charret Godard
Vice-president of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté regional council
“Today is the day when we talk about orientation 2.0, orientation in an intelligent way, in an attractive way that promotes trades. It’s an event that allows you to talk about these jobs in a positive way and make them a little sexier because it is important for young people but also for the not so young. Indeed now we are in a period where there is no longer a linear career. A study was launched between Dijon Métropole and URSSAF and we can see very clearly that the industry has evolved very positively, but what’s more, it’s complicated. Or, these industry trades deserve to be talked about differently. It is no longer Zola, we can see it with this technological dimension which is extremely interesting. “

“I am responsible for pedagogy in the company Vitta science. We are present on all the dates of the French Fab Tour 2021. We present the educational kit created with the company STAR microelectronics.
Vitascience is a Paris-based startup that develops educational kits and interfaces to learn programming. This is mainly intended for middle and high school students and teachers. We have inaugurated our kits in Metz. A kit on the Martian robot and a kit on the connected robot. “
