CdF (H) | It works for Tremblay, Sélestat and Dijon
We know the names of the four Proligue teams qualified for the next round of the Coupe de France: in addition to Nice, Sélestat, Tremblay and Dijon will take part in the third round of the Cup in December.
The Men’s French Cup, in a format so particular this year because reserved for professional clubs, in the first two rounds only Proligue clubs were opposed. The eight qualifiers from the first round had to challenge each other in the second, to join the Starligue clubs in December for the third round. Attractive, who took advantage of Billère’s package, was already qualified. Three of the strongest teams from the start of the Proligue championship joined him on Tuesday. Selestat, the championship leader, has irremediably widened the gap against Caen at the start of the second period, and qualified fairly quietly for the next round (32-23). Steven George (7 goals), Hugo Van Ee (6) and goalkeeper Hugo Kriszt (16 saves) are the main architects of the Alsatian qualification.
Reverse scenario to Sarrebourg, where the favorite Tremblay started his meeting with a bang (3-9, 14 ′), before losing Yosdany Rios on expulsion. In the last quarter of an hour, the Moselle club, at home, returned to the score until equalizing then passing in front (24-23, 54 ′). Étienne Mocquais’ teammates (11 goals) raised their heads in the last five minutes to get back in front and qualify (26-28). Finally, in the main shock of this second round, Dijon achieved the performance of knocking down Pontault-Combault his home. The Burgundians spent the second period in front, and were able to keep their two goals ahead in the last two minutes of the match. Despite the nine goals of Jean-Pierre Dupoux, Pontault therefore leaves in the second round of the competition. The four lucky qualifiers will join eight Starligue clubs for the next round on December 17th.
