Toulouse: a ceremony to honor those who help in the professional inclusion of homosexuals and transsexuals
Each year, the Association L’Autre Cercle honors people, homosexual or not, working within their company for the inclusion of LGBT + people. The ceremony honoring 94 people will take place on Tuesday. It can be followed live from the Espace diversités secularity in Toulouse. A friendly exchange in the presence of guests and the 6 Toulouse winners will be offered after the screening.
It’s not always easy to reveal your homosexuality or transidentity to your colleagues and superiors. This Tuesday, at the end of the day, the association The Other Circle will unveil the list of 94 people – including six from Toulouse – who work daily for a better inclusion of LGBT + people in the world of work. The event will be broadcast from 5 p.m. on the site RolesModelsLGBT.fr and on the association’s social networks. A screening will be held the same day from 6 p.m. at the Espace diversités secularity in Toulouse (38 Rue d’Aubuisson).
Mika, referent for all employees of the La Poste group
Mika Pagnat is one of the Toulouse laureates. Three years ago, when he was 46, he became a man. In his company, his transition was relatively well accepted, with the exception of transphobic remarks from a colleague. Nevertheless, Mika is aware of the difficulties of trans people. This project manager at the Postal Bank is committed to helping transsexual and homosexual people, and more generally minorities in his company.
“I want to be an example for people with various issues. Unwittingly, some employees may have awkward remarks about homosexuals or trans. I therefore proposed to be the point of reference for people working at La Poste throughout France, but also for former internal employees. Another ambition of Mika: to create an association in partnership with its management. He advises people in difficulty because of their gender to find support from associations like Pride in Toulouse. “I am also a therapist and offer listening until the end of the year. Often people in my situation can have a very difficult feeling of exclusion. We are ashamed of what we are. “
