The turnover of AliExpress Russia in the first half of the year grew to 133.3 billion rubles – Economy and business
MOSCOW, October 11. / TASS /. The turnover of the online retailer AliExpress Russia grew in the first half of the fiscal year (April 1 – September 30, 2021) by 36% compared to the same period last year and amounted to RUB 133.3 billion, the company said.
“The turnover for the first half of the financial year (April 1, 2021 – September 30, 2021) amounted to 133.3 billion rubles (excluding services) with an increase of more than 36% year-on-year,” the statement says.
Sales of goods on the local marketplace grew 2.3 times year-on-year; by the end of September, the turnover of the local business of AliExpress Russia, including services formed by more than a third of the total turnover. In the first half of the year, the number of orders from sellers from Russia increased 5.5 times a year, the total number of orders on the platform for the first half of the year reached 139.2 million rubles, the report says.

The number of active buyers over the past 12 months has exceeded 27.9 million people. At the same time, the number of buyers from Russia increased by 2.1 times year-on-year. The total range of AliExpress is 177.1 million goods and is growing year by year, while in the local SPU segment, Russian sellers increased in 3.3 years and amounted to 11.7 million, the report says.
The total number of sellers on AliExpress Russia exceeds 350 thousand. The number of sellers from China and other countries on AliExpress is more than 275 thousand, which increased by 45% year-on-year. The online platform was created in October 2019. The turnover of AliExpress Russia, a joint venture between the Chinese Alibaba Group, Megafon, Mail.ru Group and the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), amounted to 229.3 billion rubles in the financial year, and 209 billion rubles in the calendar year. In January of this year, RDIF, together with Middle East funds, bought out 7.85% of AliExpress Russia shares from Alibaba Group, as a result, the latter’s share was 47.85%, while RDIF’s share increased to 12.9%.
