Hungary is a democratic country where everyone lives freely, regardless of skin color or sexual resistance
Marco Rossi also spoke about the behavior of Hungarian fans in September, his own future, Willi Orbán, Balogh Botond, who was called in to replace Leipzig’s defender, and Ádám Bogdán at a press conference before the Anglo-Hungarian World Cup qualifiers at Wembley Stadium in London on Monday evening.
Asked by the journalist what he thought about the Hungarian media’s behavior after the September Hungarian-English match, there was more talk about the behavior of Hungarian fans than about the match itself, Rossi responded that the racist gesturing, kneeling English team was paid, and Hungarian fans throwing players who celebrate their goals belong to the minority.
He talked about the Hungarian federal captain, that he has been living in Hungary since 2012, and in the last 9 years he has found that Hungarians are tolerant people,
“Hungary is a democratic country where everyone lives freely, they don’t want to be discolored or sexually resistant.”
So in this respect it is no different from England.
The Mex in September itself was decided in the second half, according to the manager. In the first half we managed to stick to the pre-arranged tactics, but after the first English goal we opened, it was already difficult to keep the result from that situation.
Tomorrow’s mack will have to follow tactical instructions until the last minute if we don’t want to run into a similar defeat, Rossi says.
It’s too early to talk about my resignation
At the press conference, it was raised that if the team could run into a serious defeat against the English, Rossi would submit his resignation, as Sándor Egervári did in 2013, after 1-8 against the Dutch.
The federal captain replied that he was not in the habit of being a player either, and he never used to give up as a coach. He wants to fight with his players in the remaining three matches from the qualifying series. He recalled that he had signed a contract valid until spring 2025 and feels that he still enjoys the trust of the MLSZ.
So Rossi says it’s too early to guess about his future. At the end of the qualifying series, in November, they will sit down with the federation to discuss what to do next. In the meantime, however, you want to focus on the matches ahead.
It is not easy to negotiate with Leipzig
We asked the federal captain what he thought of Willi Orban being recalled by his club team, RB Leipzig, before the match against the English. We were also curious about the basis of the choice of Balogh Botond, who was called in to replace Orbán.
Rossi replied that, as with other German clubs, it was difficult to negotiate the release of the player with Leipzig. They are always forced to compromise. In the present case, Orban had a fever, so the match against the Albanian was barely let go either. In the end, a decision was made between the Hungarian federation and the German club that Orbán would only play against the Albanians and omit the anti-English match.
Called to replace Orbán, Balogh Botond’s debut has been ripe for some time, according to Rossi. Balogh, who currently plays in the Italian second division in Parma, has long been followed by the captain. So far, he hasn’t invited the 19-year-old talent, who was already featured in Serie A last season because he’s struggled with injuries for months.
In addition to Rossi, Ádám Bogdán, the national team’s replacement goalkeeper, also took part in the press conference. The federal captain tried to point out that attending the goalkeeper’s press conference did not make him feel like he would start against the English tomorrow.
Bogdán, who has played in the English first class a total of 26 times, has said he is happy to be here in England again. He acknowledged that the whole team had a bad taste in the mouths not the two defeats against the Albanians, but he believes he will throw everyone up to play against one of the best teams in the world, in one of the most iconic stadiums in the world, “a real sanctuary”.
The Hungarian national team will play against the English on Tuesday evening at 20:45. The tournament will be broadcast live on Telexen.
