General strike of the base unions, in Genoa the procession is divided into two sections
Complex morning for those moving to Genoa due to the general strike of the base unions, which attracted three thousand Genoese to the square. This was reported by the Dire agency, of which we also publish the photograph. The procession started from the ferry terminal, but while a part, led by port workers, Yes, Cobas and Usb follows the path announces along the flyover, the others, shouting “no green passage“, Remain on the ordinary road network in via Milano, together with Cobas and Cub. With them also the former pentastellato senator and now of the Alternative there is, Mattia Crucioli, and the local representatives of Italexit. The two events should reach the headquarters of Confindustria, in via San Vincenzo, but the division into two sections has displaced everyone.
The double procession has completely blocked the ordinary city traffic, especially for those from the west to the center and to the east.
Many protesters were also blown away by the division, with some groups, trade unions and non-trade unions, who found themselves separated without understanding why. Many dockers, firefighters and many foreign workers crossed their arms. On the eve of the demonstration, the trade unions would like to point out that it would not be a protest against the Green pass, but rather against the economic, social and world of work policy carried out by the Draghi government. But from the very first minutes of today, it was understood that it was not going to be just like that.
The concentration was also joined by “Free piazza Genova“, The movement that organizes every week aids and demonstrations against the green certificate and the anti Covid vaccination obligation. In the crowd also the municipal councilors of M5S, Fabio Ceraudo (new USB unionist, after leaving Uilm) and Stefano Giordano (firefighter).
In the square also the students, called to demonstrate by the collective “I see Earth”. For them, the reasons for the university protest are many and best summarize the “double square” of this morning: against Prime Minister Draghi and the PNRR “who leaves at school and only 12% of the funds”; against Minister Cingolani who “instead of worrying about a true ecological transition, is involved in distributing money for weapons research”; against the Green pass at the university and for free tampons for all, “without further blackmail”. After the evacuation of the Tdn last Friday, antagonists, young people from social centers and anti-fascist Genoa also joined the procession.
