DOUBAI, October 10, 2021 (WAM) – The miniature version of the Monaco Pavilion in the European Principality has been inaugurated. His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco and Rim bent Ibrahim Al Hachémy, Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director General of Expo 2020 in Dubai, together marked this occasion.
During a virtual conversation around via interactive booths – one in the Monaco Pavilion, Expo 2020 Dubai, and the other in the “Mini” Monaco Pavilion at Port Hercules – His Serene Highness Prince Albert II congratulated Al Hachemy for the success of the Expo 2020 opening ceremony and the completion of its first week. She expressed her gratitude to Monaco and all the participants for their commitment to the World Expo, obtained the need to achieve progress on urgent priorities such as sustainability.
The mini pavilion offers augmented reality headsets that allow visitors to Monaco to discover all the facets of their country’s polygonal pavilion, inspired by the “Rock of Monaco” in Dubai.
Monaco Pavilion Director at Expo 2020 Dubai, Samira Jawhar, explained that the Expo pavilion reflects an important environmental message, with solar panels outside powering the building during the six-month mega -event. With an area of 1,700 m² and a height of 12 m, the pavilion offers a complete presentation of the city of Monaco, in particular its tourist and commercial opportunities.
Since its opening, the pavilion has welcomed visitors of different ages and nationalities, said Jawhar, who showed particular interest in research and technology, as well as in Monaco’s environment and architectural initiatives.
