This Tuesday, Portugal face Luxembourg for the penultimate day of the qualifying group stage for the 2022 World Cup. Luxembourg coach Luc Holtz gave an overview of what he considers to be the “match on the hardest of the group ”.
Third in Group A with six points, Luxembourg has nothing more to lose. After having stood up to Serbia despite a 1-0 defeat, the Luxembourgers fully intend to use their current good momentum to surprise Portugal. But the coach knows that the task will not be easy.
“It’s the toughest game in this group, but we will try to confirm the good performance we had against Serbia. We are aware of what we can do, but we also know the quality they have ”, began by saying Luc Holtz. The Luxembourg technician does not lose sight of the surprise effect that football sometimes reserves and intends to play a sales round to Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates.
“It’s a good chose that there are surprises in football. A few weeks ago one of my players helped his club beat Real Madrid. We will try to surprise, but we know it will be difficult. In any case, we are not going to enter the game anxious or fearful, ”he said.
Leader of Group A, Portugal receives Luxembourg this Tuesday at 19:45 GMT.
