Deontay Wilder suffers broken hand against Tyson Fury
Deontay Wilder was taken to hospital after his loss to Tyson Fury.
The news gets worse for Deontay Wilder after his loss to Tyson Fury after his coach Malik Scott revealed the full extent of the injury.
The American was taken straight to hospital after being knocked out in the 11th round at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“I took him into his room, he’s seen a doctor afterwards. Everything’s cool … he slapped his lip, he broke his hand, broke his finger, knuckles, something like that. But life goes on,” Scott told Expressen.
Scott also expressed his desire for Wilder to take a long break from boxing after a fight in which the former world champion hit the canvas twice before being knocked out by Fury in the penultimate round of the competition.
“I really do not want Deontay to talk about boxing or do anything with boxing for a long time. I want him to rest well, especially after this.”
“Even after the last fight he was so worked up. So worked in the meantime, and in training and was so excited and so happy to win the arbitration. He really never got a rest, he deserved a good rest. I’m going to make sure he get it. “
