Armenia’s high-tech industry minister receives Sweden’s ambassador
Armenia’s Minister of High-Tech Industry Vahagn Khachaturyan received on Friday Sweden’s extraordinary and council ambassador to Armenia Patrik Svensson, according to the press release from the Ministry of High-Tech Industry.
Khachaturyan greeted the ambassador and said that one of the Armenian government’s priorities is to make Armenia a high-tech industrial country, and taking into account the unprecedented successes in Swedish industry, the Minister greatly appreciated the close cooperation with Sweden and the exchange of experience.
The Minister considered that the successful digitalisation strategy in Sweden emphasizes the opportunities for cooperation and adds that Armenia can become attractive to foreign investors if it has a digitalised society.
Ambassador Svensson emphasized the current opportunities for cooperation and noted that Armenia is making significant progress in digitalisation, innovation and high technology and welcomed the Government’s approach and the support provided to the sector. Svensson also mentioned that Sweden is interested in the talent’s commitment and grants several scholarships through the Eastern Partnership program.
The Parties expressed their willingness to take active measures to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation, in particular through the exchange of professional experience, the development of an ecosystem, cooperation between start-ups in both countries and training programs.
