ALL ANTWERP. “I have a wine shop in my living room… (Antwerp)
Every weekday our reporter and photographer pick a casual passer-by off the street for a nice conversation. Want everyone has a story. And certainly in Antwerp. Today: Diana Wanjau (42).
“Food that is made with love is good food. All the time. I am very critical when it comes to food. At a restaurant I sometimes think that I could have made a dish better myself. I am busy with tasty and fresh food every day. I take the children to school in the morning and immediately after that I start to get started. They are used to being fed when they get home from school. Sometimes my husband says I put in too much effort, just on a weeknight, but I can’t resist. My favorite dish is probably rice with beans and coconut. I like to eat that when I’m homesick for Kenya, where I was born. My kids love it too.”
“Extensive cooking has become a little more difficult lately as I recently opened my own business. I have converted my living room into a wine shop with only Portuguese wines, which are the best wines for me at the moment. Every Friday afternoon my husband and I taste the new samples here at the counter of the store, which for us is a kind of date night and moment for two.” rvre
