Prague – The Sparta hockey players defeated Karlovy Vary 8: 4 in the 13th extra-league round. The Prague team won for the second time in a row, but scored a maximum after three matches. Energy lost for the fifth time in a row. After three points, the home attackers Zdeněk Doležal (1 + 2) and Erik Thorell (0 + 3) scored, Ladislav Zikmund scored twice.
In the first five minutes, neither Flek nor Kulich matured close to home goalkeeper Salák. The people of Prague then took the initiative. In the seventh minute, Vitouch got into a separate escape, but Hanousek fouled him in an attempt to end. The referee ordered a penalty shot, but Captain Řepík’s shot was fired by former goalkeeper Sparta Novotný.
In the ninth minute, the home team hit for the first time. Doležal won the puck in the corner of the fence and found Buchtele ending in front of the goal. A minute later, the favorite increased the lead. Thorell passed from behind the goal to Guy, who aimed precisely at the top corner. As part of the opening act, Rachůnek almost lowered it, but his backhand stop was stopped by a stick.
Also a week ago, Sparta led 2: 0 at home after the first period, but Hradec Králové finally lost 2: 3 after the raids. This time, after exactly two minutes of the middle part, the Prague team added a third hit, when Doležal directed Tom’s shot from the knee from the blue into the goal. Novotný was replaced in the goal by Habal.
The three-goal lead narrowed down for coach Jandač’s charges within the 25th to 28th minutes, unlike a single goal. First, after hesitating the Spartan defense, Vondráček scored, and then Hladonik arrived for Salák Flek’s shot from a turn.
However, Sparta scored three times in the continuation of 150 seconds. Thorell pushed Dlapa at the guardrail, passed again from behind the goal, and Zikmund was right. Then Doležal pushed the puck into the ride on Konečný, which ended a separate escape with the premier extra-league shot, for which he needed six matches. The sixth intervention of the home team was provided by Polášek, to whom Thorell was charged from the first shot.
After less than a minute of the third period, Flek reduced the numerical advantage with a shot under the upper bar. Although Zikmund then overcame Habala, he did not pay for the goal due to intentional kicking of the skates into the puck. Immediately, Řepík failed after the escape. In the middle of the final act, Rachůnek used the power play, but Sparta answered thanks to Řepík in 80 seconds.
In the last five minutes, Vondráček’s guest attack got into two promising opportunities, but he did not add the second shot in the duel. The home team had the last word when Sigismund determined the final result in the final minutes. The people of Prague scored in the O2 arena for the seventh time in a row and the post office won.
Voices of coaches after the match:
Josef Jandač (Sparta): “We are satisfied that we finally scored more goals. But I didn’t like the game back at all, it was so much more frivolous. We still can’t do it weakening. We’re happy to win, but the performance wasn’t good.”
Tomáš Mariška (Carlsbad): “We lost more matches unnecessarily. we are not able to score with four goals scored on Sparta, so it is wrong. If we do not learn from this, the body itself will come none. “
