The 42-year-old Morass has previously coached Wacker Innsbruck’s second team and only returned to the Inn in the summer of this year after his assistant coaching engagement with Japanese first division club Vissel Kobe.
The Japanese looked after the women’s department at FC Wacker Innsbruck from 2017 to 2019 and previously worked as an assistant trainer at Urawa Reds and SV Horn. From Monday, Morass will train the second division team, the remaining six games until the winter break are to take place under the aegis of the 42-year-old. “As a long-standing member of the Wacker family, it is a great pleasure for me to be able to support the team in the current situation. Our task is to ensure calm with our way of working and to get the most out of the next six games. The two previous assistant coaches for the second team, Mario Anfang and Yerwand Sukiasyan, will be at Morass’s side. Philipp Heinzer, previously assistant coach in the professional department, will take over the post of head coach for the second team on an interim basis until winter. As sports director Alfred Hörtnagl emphasizes, Innsbruck will soon be looking for a coach for the second half: “In the coming weeks we will be looking for a coach to take over the team at the start of winter preparations.” the Tyroleans are only sixth in the table.
