HBW Balingen-Weilstetten prevails against Hanover-Burgdorf
“My conclusion is very positive,” emphasized the Balingen commanding officer, “because of two things. On the one hand because of the result. But what makes me even more happy is the way we performed – how we fought, as a team, fought extremely for the balls. Coming back like this after this start was really very strong. ”
Bad start
In the basement duel against the warriors, the HBW initially had a hard time, 0: 3 behind (2nd minute). It was important that the Balingen captain, Jona Schoch, netted. The TSV continued to press the accelerator fully. In the majority, Vladan Lipovina brought the newcomer from 2019 back up (2: 3/3.), But the Lower Saxony continued to lead. These weren’t necessarily better, but initially more efficient.
At 5: 5, Lipovina equalized for the first time (8th). Despite being outnumbered, the Swabians had better scenes in this phase, although the clear chances were sometimes missing. Fabian Wiederstein gave Balingen the first lead at 6: 5 (11th).
As a result, neither of the two teams made a decisive difference. Bitter that Gregor Thomann missed the first penalty throw from Balingen (13th). Nonetheless, the district townspeople were further ahead: 7: 6 (14th). Daniel Ingason was looking forward to plus two (18th) for the first time at 10: 8. Christian Prokop promptly pulled out the green card. The ex-national coach saw his team better, “but we’re leaving too much behind.”
Sejr provides important impulses
On the other hand, HBW had to work an incredible amount to get to the deal. Incredibly important that Lipovina was successful at 11:10 am (21st). The “Gauls” were now on the trigger – also because more impulses came from the goalkeeper position (from 16 Simon Sejr). After 13:10 (23rd minute), the TSV was too quick to get back on track. The HBW pushed on, buoyed by the great scenery, and went into the break with a 16:13 advantage. “We made a few mistakes too many,” analyzed Bürkle.
After the break, the Swabians continued to build their lead. Tim Nothdurft and Moritz Strosack at 18:13 (32nd). The TSV had a hard time finding no means. “Don’t do anything for the gallery,” demands the guest trainer. Clear words from Prokop, who was not at all satisfied. The “Gauls” are still defensively stable, but the front now lacked precision. At 17:18 (37th), the Lower Saxony came back within striking distance.
After four defeats in a row, the HBW finally had reason to celebrate again on Saturday. In a hard-fought game, the “Gauls” prevailed against the warriors with 28:26.
Bürkle reacted, asked for a separate meeting on the sidelines. The sports scientist called for more calm after the 4-0 negative run, “nothing has happened yet.” It is important that Lipovina scored in this critical phase. The newcomer from 2019 stayed on the trigger – but the wrist wobbled tremendously. Schoch took the next ticket. Thomann stops the Hanoverians catching up. Vorst. Björn Zintel was looking forward to 22:19 (46th). But it remained a tight box in the “Hell South”, always with slight advantages for the Swabians (25: 22/49.).
Saueressig as a decision maker
Both teams kept the pace high. The TSV defended Nun Offensive, so forced the Balinger to make mistakes. At 25:24 (51st) the game threatened to overturn. HBW keeper Sejr held the points in crunchtime and took two free ones away from the guests. On the other hand, Lukas Saueressig put the lid on with the 28:25 33 seconds before the end of the game.
