In Antwerp, 26,000 runners will have 10 Miles at the 35th edition of the AG Antwerp on Sunday. Encouraged by tens of thousands of spectators, they crossed the Antwerp city center and Linkeroever over a distance of sixteen kilometers. In addition to the 10 Miles, there were also shorter distances: the AG Antwerp Short Run of 6.8 kilometers and the Alpro Kids Run of 1.8 kilometers. A total of 30,500 sports enthusiasts took part in this postponed edition of 2020.

The running event started at 10:30 am on Sunday morning with the 1.8 kilometer Alpro Kids Run in which 1,000 children aged 4 to 12 took part. This was followed by the AG Antwerp Short Run of 6.8 kilometers at 11.30 am, which was good for 3,500 participants.
The AG Antwerp 10 Miles attracted like most participants. The route was slightly modified this year, including a passage over the Grote Markt. In consultation with the city of Antwerp, the organization had set a limit of 26,000 participants for this autumn edition. They were divided into four waves. The first wave, with all the top runners, left at 1.30 pm. Michaël Somers won the race in a time of 47 minutes and 45 seconds. In the women’s race, the victory went to Nina Lauwaert in a time of 56 minutes and 51 seconds.

Traditionally, many well-known Flemish people passed by among the participants, such as Antwerp mayor Bart De Wever (N-VA), Minister of the Interior Annelies Verlinden (CD&V), Flemish Minister of Education and Sport Ben Weyts (N-VA), Bazart -singer Mathieu Terryn, comedian Geert Hoste, actress Tine Embrechts and cyclist Wout van Aert.
