Toulouse: with Marcello the real Neapolitan pizza arrives at Fer à Cheval
After his restaurant in Place Saint-Georges and his Street Food in Place Saint-Pierre, Marcello Biga “the true Neapolitan and popular pizzeria” settles down at Fer à Cheval. Inspired by the model of the Italian trattoria, once a neighborhood restaurant, good, and managed as a family, Marcello Biga wants to combine authenticity, quality at affordable prices, and proximity. “We want all Toulouse residents, and not just those in the city center, to be able to enjoy our pizzas” assures Maryne, communications manager. “But Marcello is not a chain, we will start to create a big family, the Marcello squadra, in a spirit of simplicity and quality” she adds. To take away or to eat on the terrace for a lunch break, the large pizza is made from a slow fermentation dough according to a secret process. Tomato base or white base, lovers of Italian gastronomy have the choice between nearly twenty different pizzas garnished mainly with ingredients from Italy. All Marcello restaurants are identifiable thanks to an identical decoration, a mixture of Italian and Toulouse notes, produced by Vincent Seck of the Frigo Club de Toulouse. From the music to the staff accent, everything transports us to the country of the famous actor Marcello Mastroianni from whom the brand borrowed the first name as a tribute. While home delivery is possible, many prefer to order or enjoy Marcello’s pizzas on site “our customers often tell us that they feel like they are on a little trip to Italy” says Daniel, the head of the team.
