For a few years now, home delivery services have the wind in their sails Toulouse (Haute Garonne).
Already highly prized before confinement, their popularity has made a giant leap with the health crisis. A special period which also highlighted the interest of the French for local, organic products and more generally for healthy eating. 64% of us bought in short circuits in 2020, According to a Kantar study published in May 2021.
Drive-through sale or home delivery
Except that since then, the daily grind has resumed its rights, especially since the start of the school year in September. Between returning to work, school for the children, each other’s activities or household chores, it is difficult to keep good eating habits. As for embarking on a quest for small producers, located most often outside the cities, this is downright mission impossible.
But like Ethan Hunt, aka Tom Cruise, in the blockbuster franchise, the company Alenvie is on a mission to make the impossible possible. Comment? By launching an online platform that rewards consumers for their responsible courses, bringing together their producers and deliver all of their organic and local home lessons.
Launched in Bordeaux in September 2018, the start-up continues to grow and land in the Pink City. She opened a warehouse at Purpan, at number 1, impasse de Lisieux (next to the Haute-Garonne Chamber of Agriculture). Since Monday September 20, 2021, five employees prepare and deliver orders via the drive or directly to their homes.
Accumulate money with your purchases
But concretely, how does it work? The concept is simple:
1. The customer chooses from a digital catalog all the products, grown in most cases within 150 km of home: fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, groceries, drinks, etc.
2. He can receive his lessons at the drive or have it delivered to his home: an order before 12 noon allows his products to be delivered at 6 p.m. or in less than three hours in the city center, thanks to an electric scooter.
3. And on a next purchase, it can even lower the bill thanks to to cashback obtained on the most eco-responsible products. The better a product is rated, the higher the Myels ratio (100 Myels = 1 €), according to the basis of four criteria: locality, packaging, direct producer and organic.
People who consume local and reasoned are rewarded: they benefit from a cashback proportional to the note of the products ordered. For example, a local carrot will carry 20 Myels (20 centimes) against 12 Myels for a Breton carrot. The money collected with each purchase can then be deducted from the amount of the orders. ”
Pay “the fair price” to producers
If the consumer wins, so does the producer. No more middlemen, endured prices and food waste due to unsold products:
Via a dedicated space, producers can enter arrivals, dates and sale prices, as well as the quantity available. The product then appears for sale to consumers. In real time, each producer can therefore be informed of the orders and therefore of the quantities to be harvested and delivered in the days to come. “
For the time being, almost a around thirty market gardeners and a fifty artisans (grocery, hygiene, cosmetics, etc.) are listed on the Alenvy site. All are located within a radius of 150 km around Toulouse. Among them, the family farm GrateBio located in Grateloup-Saint-Gayrand (Lot-et-Garonne) or the Toulouse craft brewery of the Seillonne.
We chose Toulouse to continue to develop because it is a very large city and looks like Bordeaux in many ways. And then, the proximity between the two metropolises is a plus for some of our referenced producers, especially those who work in Lot-et-Garonne. They will be able to sell their products to more customers. “
Three years after having conquered the Bordeaux market, Erwan Moullec and his two partners, James Terrien and Victor Terrien, intend to meet the same success in Toulouse.
