Saudi delegation led by Al-Qasabi is touring groundbreaking projects in Sweden
STOCKHOLM – Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Trade Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi visited several pioneering projects in Sweden on Friday. The projects were in specialized areas for the kingdom’s vision 2030, including technology, mining, environment, education, health, innovation, renewable and clean energy, among others.
The Saudi minister also met with a group of investors, businessmen and owners of innovative companies.
The tour came as part of Dr. Al-Qasabi’s current official visit to the Kingdom of Sweden.
In the Swedish city of Sickla, Dr. Al-Qasabi began his tour by visiting Luossavaara-Kiirunavaara Aktiebolag (LKAB), a company owned by the Swedish government, founded in 1890. It is one of the leading companies in smart and sustainable mining and high-tech minerals. .
The Minister of Saudi Arabia and the accompanying delegation also visited Karolinska University Hospital in Solna, an important medical research center in Europe and one of the leading medical universities in the world. They met several Saudi students there.
Dr. Al-Qasabi’s tour also included a visit to Kista, Ericsson’s headquarters, a leading provider of data connectivity and telecommunications systems, where he met with Kista Science City CEO Karen Bengtson and was briefed on the city’s operations based on the “smart cities’ triple spiral” concept.
He also discussed with a number of Swedish officials issues about strengthening relations and developing opportunities for cooperation, in addition to promoting innovation, pioneering projects and advanced technology between the two countries. – SPA
