Gui Costa, Azorean athlete competed on video for one minute and was very happy with the final result: “Yes, I’m very happy, although one expectation was the four-minute category, because it was a lot more work, but anyway, there was no flash of inspiration, it was a good moment and I was awarded”.
The athlete from Mainland Portugal, Rui Bernardo, who competed in photography, said he was “very happy” about the silver medal: “It really tastes like gold, because it rewards a work that we communicated and a brutal effort, and therefore, it was the best that we have achieved”.
For the future, the continental athlete said that he will “continue to work and look for more and better”.
In the DIÁRIO, the president of the Portuguese Federation of Underwater Activities, Ricardo José, said he was very satisfied with a competition that took place in Porto Santo waters.
I think everything was well associated, the organization was well, the athletes behaved beautifully. I hope this experience will bring these people and many more back to Porto Santo, which has all the conditions, both in terms of organizational capacity and geographical position, and also a fantastic sea to receive underwater activities, as has been the case.
