Péter Szikszai: Viktor Orbán needs to think
One week ago, members of the economic elite were still smiling at the joint photo with the mayor.
“Just as it is not worth betting on the Nobel Prize of a Dead Writer, so is the prime minister of Gergely Karácsony. The chances, of course, were a little better a few weeks ago when influential members of the economic elite smiled in a joint photo with the mayor. The noble goals for which the excellent company clashed can be nothing more than the fulfillment of the aspirations of the people of Budapest: “public-private partnership”, “global openness” and – some other people would really miss – diversity.
The professional organization under the pseudonym Budapest Globál, which seeks on paper “answers to complex and changing changing challenges”, was actually established with the support of the Prime Minister of Gergely Karácsony. Prominent figures alongside the mayor were OTP leader Sándor Csányi, Zsolt Hernádi, chairman and CEO of Mol or left-wing media owner Zoltán Varga. But Budapest Airport, Graphisoft, IKEA, Prezi and Vodafone have also been classified for the change of power.
To record the fact, the expression of confidence in Christmas is just the pre-election should be moderately done. The politician was strengthened by the economic elite who advertised on posters that only he could defeat Viktor Orbán. Critics of Hungary surrounded the mayor with subsidized protection, who during his short reign made Budapest a construction site, created traffic jams and useless beehives as a green politician.
That Christmas was able to fail even with such an economic background is a different story, of course, but it certainly qualifies as subsidized.
The list of Budapest Global was, of course, surprising only to those who do not recognize the listed companies and their managerial perseverance and the way of thinking of financiers. Based on the statements made by the Prezi founder Péter Árvai in the media, he was not surprised by the encouragement of Christmas.
Zoltán Varga, a large left-wing entrepreneur, managed the firepower of his media portfolio years ago by the Fidesz government. The pro-state past, probably forty billionaires or even just a businessman, has openly helped the victory of the left so far. His presence in such a company is quite obvious. However, the appearance of the president of IVSZ, Balázs Vinnai, who joined the right-wing business circle he operated for Magyar Bankholding as a non-presidential chief, is different, but he also sees a great deal in his cooperation with Christmas.
However, the fact that Sándor Csányi, one of the richest people in Hungary, stands to the left of Gergely Karácsony is no more than a location. In his article on the formation of Budapest Global, Forbes felt obliged to clarify the bank governor of the accusation of possible ambiguity. The business magazine avoided confrontation and rolled up the political tape, calling Csányi a straightforward “diplomat” and explaining his million performance: “One of the messages of the photo shared with Christmas is that even if he keeps his distance, business interest as well. “”
