The Kitzsteinhorn (Pinzgau) was the first Salzburg ski area to start the new ski season on Saturday – with almost 2,000 winter sports enthusiasts. On the first day on the snow, you will adhere to the CoV rules from summer, because cable cars and tourism professionals are still waiting for the new ones.
Almost 2,000 winter sports enthusiasts took the first opportunity to go skiing on Saturday.
A result with which the Kapruner Gletscherbahnen are more than satisfied and at the same time can also have enough visitors to run the lifts cost-covering.
Season start with great weather
As early as 8.30 a.m. on Saturday, the first ski-hungry people flocked to the cash register. Around a third of the around 20 lifts went into operation on the first day of the season. “I always start at the start of the season and finish at the end of the season, because skiing is simply a dream and you have to take advantage of that as often as possible,” says Gudrun Müller-Stumpf from Kitzbühel in Tyrol.
In great weather, the winter sports enthusiasts started the season on Saturday – with sun from above and plenty of snow as a base from the past few days. “I got the season ticket yesterday so I can start today. The weather is great and it’s really good to drive, ”says Lorenz Buchwieser from Altenmarkt (Pongau).
Covid rules from the summer currently still apply
After dying last season was a de facto total failure due to the pandemic, we hoped for a reasonably normal winter again this year. At the start of the season of the glacier lifts on the Kitzsteinhorn, however, with the Covid regulations of the summer, because the new regulation is not yet there.
Season ticket holder & fill out the form
Buyers of a season ticket when & fill out a form with which you stipulate that you then also comply with the upcoming rules. FFP2 masks are still required when taking the gondola.
Once on the mountain, nothing stands in the way of having fun on the slopes. “We are expecting between 1,500 and 2,000 guests at the beginning of October – depending on the weather and snow conditions, and here the snow has helped us a lot over the past few days,” said the board member of the Kapruner Gletscherbahnen, Norbert Karlsböck, with satisfaction. The summer regulations also currently apply to hut catering – access is only possible with a 3-G certificate.
