Anti-fascist event of the SYRIZA Youth
“Neither in schools nor anywhere – We crush fascism and what gives birth to it” was the slogan of the anti-fascist event organized by the Youth of SYRIZA Thessaloniki on Saturday night (09/10) in a well-known multipurpose area of the city.
Nikos Filis, the head of the SYRIZA-PS Education Department, stressed that “learning about democracy in education is a central learning for the whole society, for our children for the future of the country, it is a battle that teachers and parents fight “and the youth, for which we will speak today, of course, against the ugliness and the challenges of the neo-fascists, but also against the governmental authoritarianism.”
Mr. Nikos Paraskevopoulos, former Minister, Emeritus Professor of Law at AUTh, said that the report discussed the violence that has developed in the school of Thessaloniki, in Athens and added that in order to fight against violence and deal with it we must understand , how it arises, how it is created and what is it that can prevent its development.
Journalist Akis Sakisloglou stressed that “the similarities between the period 2010-2013, when neo-Nazism grew in society today, are shocking. Then it was the memoranda and the economic dystopia that led to the rage, the reaction and the easy surrender of part of society to the fascists of the golden dawn. Today the same phenomenon returns with another staff but with the same goal. To disorient the world from its real problems and to make neo-Nazi formations into regulators of the political system. At this juncture, the easiest place for neo-Nazis to infiltrate is our schools and stadiums, and more specifically the teams’ links. “
