High level, more qualified
Artur Szklener, director of the competition, announced that the jury unanimously decided to qualify more pianists to the second stage. – In this way, they wanted to demonstrate their assessment of the very high artistic level of a student of the Chopin Competition – he said.
I decided to write the regulations, according to which, “until the second stage of the replacement in update 40”, director Szklener explained that “the correction of the correction has been fixed”. – Because the jurors, in order to make their selection, do not know the name of the pianist, but only an anonymous ranking list – the name. Like voting, voting now has only submitted votes at its disposal, as well as decisions on scoring technical combat.
“The next time the border borders, it means that others have a different score, when there was an immediate transfer of information about ineligible and ineligible lines between such blocks, hence the difference,” he said. He informed that “this time the borderline was just before the 40th person, and after the 39th and just after. Therefore, the jury unanimously decided 45 to qualify more pianists to the second stage ”. – They also wanted to demonstrate in this way their assessment of the very high artistic level of the competition participants – he stressed.
“Many great pianists have to say goodbye today”
Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń, chairman of the jury, that “the jury had a lot of work and had to pass a lot of decisions”. – For almost practitioners, this moment will be for less, less, but it is not me, this moment of the competition level is very high this year, so I had to say goodbye to many participants with my peer – the Truda program.
Its a rigid time, because six years from the last job, the living conditions that the participants during the pandemic gained new experiences and have additional time to work ”. Once again, she is sad that “it is still sad that so many great artists have to say goodbye to the Chopin Competition today”. – Whenever some of them close, you have to look around because others always open. So I hope that you will drop off today, look around and see other people – she added.
The disk and the least common plates
The composition of the first stage of the stage is the Ballade in F minor, Op. 52 and the Etude in G sharp minor, Op. 25 No. 6, according to data by the Fryderyk Chopin Institute, 18 pianists performed these pieces. 17 people chose the Etude in C major, Op. 10 No. 1 and the Nocturne in B major, Op. 62 No. 1. The Scherzo in B minor, Op. 20 and Etude in E flat minor, Op. 10 No. 6, only twice.
Stage auditions take place from 9 to 12 October. Director Szklener explained that “in the second stage of the Chopin competition, musicians play a different program, each recital lasts longer”. – In the first stage, he cannot exceed 30, the first 40th higher level, he can be ahead of the novice later and ahead of the news, as in the first stage – he added.
According to the director of the competition, “it is quite a serious challenge for every pianist, because the first stage shows the general pianistic preparation”. He stated that the pieces played “do not necessarily carry with them such a typical idiom of Polish or European music of those times”. – The reproduction of these idioms, which is primarily the envisaged polonaise, is very difficult and may be juries on a slightly different level, or on a different layer of the proven pianist – he said.
