three new sites will be renovated in Toulouse
On June 30, 2017, the Toulouse town hall unveiled the program for its “pool plan“, planned until 2025. Equipped with 30 million euros, its objectives are the renovation and creation of pools as well as the improvement of the service provided to users by guaranteeing a balance between families, clubs and schools. In this context, the swimming pools Toulouse-Lautrec, Pech David and Chapou will undergo some adjustments in the coming months. This Thursday, October 7, 2021, Jean-Luc Moudenc, the mayor of Toulouse detailed the work to come.
A Nordic pool at the Chapou pool
A the Chapou swimming pool, located in Amidonniers, the first phase of the work took place from September 2019 to October 2020. It allowed the interior rehabilitation of the premises for users with the creation of a heating network. The installation of a bathers’ course with shod and bare feet was also carried out.
The next step in the work of transforming the 25-meter summer pool into a Nordic basin usable all year round. The complete repair of the beaches and the securing of the pools using motorized roller shutters are also planned in this context. This work will take place by 2022-2023 for a budget of1.4 million euros.
Two new basins at Toulouse-Lautrec
Of them additional pools should soon see the light of day at the Toulouse-Lautrec swimming pool, Barrière de Paris. It will be a sports pool Nordic 50 meters over 4 lanes as well as a learning and relaxation pool will be created.
At the same time, the rehabilitation of the pool hall and the indoor sports pool is planned. In addition, part of the building will be extended. The work will begin in February 2022 for an opening estimated in the fall of 2023. The total amount of this operation is set at € 6.9 million.
Objective “reduction of environmental impact” at Pech David
As for Pech David’s pool, the town hall plans a “drastic reduction of the environmental impact”. In a press release, the community specifies that a “environmental effort important will be mastered on technical equipment “.
This structure from the 1970s, now considered “dilapidated and energy intensive”, no longer meets technical standards, according to the town hall. The site will consist of the installation of equipment that will recover heat, produce hot water and reduce electricity consumption by 50%. Amount of the transaction: 2.2 million euros.
