The Supreme Court condemns two carabinieri of Genoa for perjury: they had arrested five foreigners with an invented charge
Rome – The First Criminal Section of the Supreme Court declared the appeals are inadmissible of the defense of Francesco Gagliardi and Enrico Piro, belonging to the Carabinieri, against the sentence of the Court of Appeal of Genoa which on 27 June 2019 – declaring the statute of limitations for the crimes of illegal arrest, slander and false ideological of 2 years and 8 months of imprisonment each for the crime of aggravated perjury committed during the trial of five South American citizens.
The five foreigners on 12 August 2011 were arrested by the accused – motorcyclists of the Radiomobile of Genoa – with theaccusation, found to be false, of having participated in a fight in Rivarolo. The Supreme Court also declared inadmissible the appeal brought by the Ministry of Defense which had been condemned, jointly and severally with the defendants, to compensation for the damage suffered by the five South American citizens, as civilly liable for the offense committed by the military employees.
