For the second season of the Greater Paris of Writers, the Pavillon de l’Arsenal offers to rediscover the Paris region in images every Wednesday evening until December 8, 2021, thanks to the voices of contemporary authors.
The city of Paris and its surroundings have inspired many artists for centuries. “The Greater Paris of writers“, launched by the Pavilion of the Arsenal, invites us for the second year to observe in more detail the spirit and the Parisian places, thanks to the texts ofcontemporary authors and authors and the associated video recordings. Enter documentary images, literary fictions and poetic visions, the writers revisit the Gare Saint-Lazare, Meudon-La-Foret, or even l‘Arche de la Defense, all Wednesday evening online, until December 8, 2021.
Distributed on the Pavillon de l’Arsenal website, the short films offers to rediscover the city and the metropolis of Greater Paris, in full metamorphosis. Beyond the ring road, the territory changes face and does not yet have a precise identity or images to represent it. Stefan Cornic, director of the Greater Paris of Writers, wishes “contributor to the development of the image of the metropolis in the process of taking shape“and bring the suburbs closer to Paris”of the Belle Epoque“.
Wednesday evening is therefore the opportunity to listen to an author’s text on a building or a district of Greater Paris, mixed with images of the city captured by the director. Enough to linger on the landscapes in front of which all pass without stopping on the architecture, the passers-by, the variations of light and the activity which swarms in the metropolis, with all the poetry offered by the prose of the writers .
the first short film, already available, interweaving history and the perspective of writer Philippe Jaenada on this station in the 8th arrondissement of Paris to a news item that shook France in the 1960s. October 13, will highlight Les Arcades du Lac in Montigny-le-Bretonneux in the Yvelines. While waiting for the next ones, you can enjoy the Season 1 shorts, which are still available.
