Preparatory work for the major projects of the third metro line in Toulouse began this summer. Here is the list of new projects starting this Monday, October 11, district by district.
Preparatory work for the major construction site of the third metro line in Toulouse has started. Since this summer, many projects, including relocation of networks to make way for the future metro line built by Woven, disrupt circulation. Here is the list of new sectors and neighborhoods where work will begin next week.
Two closed streets in the François Verdier district
As of October 11, 2021 and for a period of eight weeks, work requiring the blocking of certain streets will begin in the François Verdier district. Interventions are planned in particular on the streets of Cheminées and Rempart Saint Etienne, which must be closed to traffic from time to time. A detour route is planned, during the day, for motorists. Nevertheless, these streets will still remain accessible to pedestrians and residents. Operations are also planned on Boulevard Lazare but they do not disrupt traffic.
Note that other network relocation work (gas, telecom or electricity) is planned following this work in the François Verdier district.
Relocation of the Jean Rieux district networks
As of Monday, October 11, the City of Toulouse will begin work to relocate underground networks in the Jean Rieux district. Rue Pradal will then be closed to traffic for the duration of the work, which should last five weeks. A detour will be set up via rue Noulet. Local access will be throughout the duration of the operations.
Ormeau sector: alternating and one-way traffic on Jean Rieux
As of October 11 and for a period of three weeks, avenue Jean Rieux and rue Raymond Corraze will be one-way (in the incoming direction). In order to allow works on the streets concerned as well as at the level of the intersections between the avenues Jean Rieux and Antoine de Saint Exupéry, a detour route and an alternative level of the crossroads also set up. The Linéo 8 bus line is maintained with a two-way detour. Local access will be regulated for the duration of the operations. Other works to relocate the networks are also scheduled following this project without their date being communicated, for the moment.
