The “Basilicata Matter for the Senses” exhibition opens tomorrow in Venice
Friday 8 October 2021 – Tomorrow, Saturday 9 October, at the Galleria di Sant’Eufemia in Venice, as part of the XII edition of Venice Design Week, the exhibition opens Basilicata Matter for the senses.
The original exhibition itinerary presents “sensitive” objects taken from the production of Lucan artisans, makers and designers, protagonists of Fucina Madre, the territorial promotion project of APT Basilicata that interprets the “landscape” of craftsmanship and design as a precious tourist resource -cultural, and identifies the “artists” as real animators of widespread beauty, in the name of culture and creativity.
“After the great success of the Expo Fucina Madre which was held in Matera last July, thanks to the collaboration started in that context with the Italian design weeks – he declared Antonio Nicoletti, director of APT Basilicata – we are pleased to bring creative Basilicata to Venice, and then to Palermo, that which is told in an exemplary way through objects of contemporary craftsmanship and design that evoke landscapes and stories of our region, inviting you to discover, as well as every commonplace “.
The exhibition therefore has the declared intention of presenting an original corpus of objects, with an idiomatic and multisensory expressiveness, inspired by materials, colors and landscapes of Basilicata. But at the same time, as pointed out by the curators, Palmarosa Fuccella, Lisa Balasso And Daniela Brignone, the project intends to strengthen the dialogue between the forms and signs of different territories and traditions, such as those represented by Venice, Palermo and Basilicata, which a widespread presence of productive realities and projects of contemporary creativity starting from the enhancement of ancient open to innovation and an original interpretation of contemporary taste.
The appointments in Venice: the opening of the exhibition is scheduled for Saturday 9 October at 10, at the Galleria Sant’Eufemia alla Giudecca, while on Monday 11, at 17, the workshop on the theme is held Tourism and crafts which will be attended by the director of APT Basilicata Antonio Nicoletti, and at 7pm, finally, the meeting with the designers of Venice Design Weeks is scheduled in the place of the exhibition Basilicata Matter for the senses.
From 29 October to 7 November next, the exhibition will be revealed in Palermo in the Ex Convento della Magione.
