Tenant. Portugal asks for entries and chosen records from the United Kingdom
O Lisbon Judicial Court asked UK authorities, through a rogatory letter, to share information on the records of all entries and exits of former banker João Rendeiro in the country, disclosure TVI24. This request was made as a matter of urgency.
Also according to the station, elements of the “last 12 months, with mention of dates and places (foreign territories)” of origin or destination are requested. Remember that the former president of Banco Privado Português has left British territory on a private jet and is on the run.
The former banker says he does not intend to return to Portugal because he feels wronged and will use the international usage. In an article published on his blog Arma Crítica, a revelation that asked the lawyer to communicate the decision to the Portuguese justice and says that it became “an expiatory omen of a desire to punish those who, after all, were not punished”.
The collapse of BPP, a bank dedicated to the management of wealth, took place in 2010, after the BPN case and preceding other scandals in Portuguese banking. Despite the small size of the BPP, the case had important repercussions due to potential contagion effects to the rest of the system when there was a financial crisis.
