George Tsounis for the position of US Ambassador to Athens
The Greek-American company George James Tsounis is the proposal of President Joe Biden for the position of the US ambassador in Athens, according to a statement issued by the White House.
According to APE-MPE, his candidacy must be approved after a hearing by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, chaired by Senator Robert Menendez. If the reef with the sedentary remarks observed in the approval of the appointments is overcome, it is estimated that George Tsounis will be able to take over the reins of the US diplomatic mission in Athens at the beginning of the new year.
The possible successor of Jeffrey Ross Payat is the founder and CEO of the Chartwell Hotels group. He began his studies at New York University and then at St. John’s University. Immediately after his studies, he worked in the largest law firm in Long Island, while to this day he continues to count in this area with his wife Olga and their three children.
“Child” of the Greek community
A second-generation immigrant with parents from mountainous Nafpaktia, George Tsounis grew up in the Greek community of New York. He attended the Greek school and was an active member of the community of Agia Paraskevi.
