From the Venice Film Festival to sales programming Great expectations for the film that tells the story of the genius of fashion
After last night’s presentation at the Odeon Cinema, the docufilm “Salvatore – Il Calzolaio dei Sogni” will be released in cinemas on 11, 12 and 13 October, distributed by Lucky Red. The film was hosted at the Venice Film Festival in 2020.
The 120 minutes of the film distributed the mystery and charm of a complex figure, an icon of Italian and world fashion who has never lost sight of the importance of family ties.
With the narrative voice of Michael Stuhlbarg, he makes use of unpublished images and testimonies that see protagonists, alongside the members of the Ferragamo family, the director Martin Scorsese, the costume designer Deborah Nadoolman Landis, and numerous scholars, teachers, stylists, journalists, fashion critics and cinematic.
The voice of Salvatore Ferragamo is not lacking in the docufilm: in fact there are period recordings, restored for the occasion, of radio interviews released in Australia and some chapters of his autobiography narrated by Ferragamo himself.
