Looking at their big eyes full of hope is a blow to the heart: these dogs, who sometimes have to deal with a past behind them, would like to finally find a loving family. The Monte Contessa Municipal Kennel, managed by the Una Association, has collected their stories and data, hoping to share information as much as possible in order to give a better future both to its guests and to the humans who want to adopt them.
In fact, welcoming a dog into your home is an experience that fills your days with joy, love and affection: it is a gesture of great solidarity and responsibility, without commitment, but capable of making life better.
Let’s see together some of the Monte Contessa dogs looking for a home, who can’t wait to get to know their new family (here the complete list is available).

On him: the distinctive sign of one ear up and one down, like a small hairy parabola ready to pick up the slightest signal. Rex is a multi-faceted dog, intelligent and curious but at the same time very closed in on himself and insecure, probably due to his past. A dog of just 4 years with a whole life ahead and a destiny yet to be written, together with someone who knows how to be struck more by his sweet and lively eyes, rather than by his physicist.
For him we are looking for a family and a context aimed at serenity, which does not include the presence of children or other dogs.

About her: Peonia is a one and a half year old dwarf who entered the kennel after being found wandering. Sweet and very fragile, she needs to trust the people she approaches. The sudden movements and noises frighten her, but at the same time, the desire to receive a caress and a reassurance help her to let go. For her we are looking for a family that lives in a quiet environment, not in the heart of the city, and that knows how to wait for its time. Peonia needs to be trusted, it must not be forced but respected. It is not known what he has been through, but in the right context he will be a perfect dog.
She loves being with other dogs and it would be the best for her to live together with a balanced companion who can guide her on her new path.
Date of birth: 2018
About him: a gorgeous young medium-sized dog that has been in the kennel for almost two years now, ever since he was just a puppy. Romeo is a very affectionate dog when he learns to trust. It does not pull on a leash, travels quietly in the car and gets along well with both dogs and cats, but it is not compatible with children.
Unfortunately as a puppy he did not receive the right foundation with his “family”, which in fact abandoned him. This is why he needs an expert guide, who knows how to pass on the skills. For him we are looking for people who are not at the first experience and willing to take a path with a dog trainer in the kennel (and possibly at home) for as long as necessary, without other animals in the house (it is possible to coexist with a female extremely balanced).
The ideal for Romeo would be a quiet family with respective context, with a garden in order to guarantee him the possibility of gradually learning to face the new reality.
