The trio had over 60 kilos of banned herbal drugs in their suitcases at Prague Airport
Customs officers arrived at three foreigners aged 23, 24 and 27 last week at Václav Havel Airport in Prague during a risk flight check.
“They smuggled the drug in their luggage, they traveled regularly on the Tel Aviv – Prague – London route,” customs spokeswoman Šárka Miškovská informed about the case on Thursday.
According to a spokesman, the suspects had bundles of herbal drug shoots wrapped in paper napkins, and customs officers weighed a total of 63 kilograms.
“Expertise has confirmed that these are fresh shoots of the edible catata (Catha edulis) plant, which contains alkaloids listed in the addictive substances list. These are cathinon and cathin, “Miškovská specified.

Her fellow foreigners handed over the foreigners to the police with a motion to charge them with the illicit use of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
The first good plant is reminiscent of bundles of fresh bear garlic, but in reality it is a tree or shrub grown in East Africa and the Arabian Peninsula.
It contains substances that have stimulating effects similar to those of amphetamines, CTK mentioned.
The most used parts of plants are young shoots and leaves, which are chewed similarly to chewing tobacco. Long-term excessive use of kata is the cause of mental problems and other diseases.

Shipments with a hangman are being detained by customs officers at Prague Airport several times. For example, last January, they also seized 40 kilos of the plant in a mail order from Ethiopia. In October 2016, a consignment that traveled over 90 kilos traveled through Ruzyně.
