Construction work on the lighting of the Schwarzgrabenweg in Salzburg-Leopoldskron will start on Monday. The “secret route” popular with local drivers is probably no longer available this year.
Schwarzgrabenweg is located near the southern end of the runway at Salzburg Airport. The single-lane path represents the connection between Moosstraße and Glanuferweg, its lighting needs to be replaced.
Numerous digging and laying of lines are necessary in advance. The start of the construction site is scheduled for Monday October 11th. The expected end is planned for the end of December. Due to the construction work, the path must be closed for the duration of the work.
Pedestrians and cyclists are redirected via the Glanufertreppelweg or the connecting path to the Moos elementary school. Avoid motorized road users and large-scale vehicles via Moosstrasse, Nußdorferstrasse, Rochusgasse and Kendlerstrasse.
Overhead line will be removed
Access to the kindergarten via Moosstrasse is possible at any time.
On Monday they start digging and laying pipes. The work will be carried out jointly by the city (MA 6/04 – public lighting) with Salzburg AG. In a first step, the required power cables are replaced. The cabling required for the lighting is now also being laid underground. The repair of the overhead line will also improve the landscape over the long term.
“The new LED lighting is brighter, lasts longer and is more precise. You benefit in several ways: It brings more safety for all road users, saves tax money and energy and is therefore an important contribution to climate protection and nature conservation. Because less scattered light has a positive effect on the insects and fauna in our city, “says Building and Environment City Councilor Berthold. Even 50-year-old, nine-meter-high wooden masts show strong cracks and are being replaced by new ones that are only six meters high.
