Ponte de Sôr: The Portugal Air Summit is back
In 2021, the Portugal Air Summit will once again receive some relevant entities and personalities from the industry, infrastructure and services, to debate and analyze the aviation sector – manned and unmanned -, aeronautics, space and defense.
The Portugal Air Summit will take place between the 13th and the 17th of October, at the Municipal Aerodrome of Ponte de Sôr. The presence, among others, of the Minister of Defense, João Gomes Cravinho, who will open the event, and the Minister of Infrastructure and Housing, Pedro Nuno Santos, who will hold an opening session on October 13th, have already been confirmed. For the same day, at 10:35 am, the presence of TAP’s executive president, Christine Ourmières-Widener, is also confirmed to talk about the future of the flag company in an interview with journalist Vítor Gonçalves as part of the division program.
The COVID-19 pandemic has severely affected the world economy, putting most industries and sectors in a difficult situation. The aeronautics and aviation sector was one of those that suffered the most, with a prolonged drop in air traffic and a sharp decline in activity. The sector’s recovery is uncertain, and it is therefore essential to discuss its future, as well as to debate different hypotheses for the recovery and viability of this activity and those that are underlying or dependent.
Under the central theme “Flying for a New Start”, a fifth edition of the Portugal Air Summit (PAS), will take place in a hybrid format, which will allow to take the discussion even further, going beyond the borders of the country. Remember that last year, the event’s audience was present in 60 different countries. The summit will take place over 5 days, the first 3 days being mostly focused on visits and networking, as such, with a more professional audience, followed by two more fun days with presentation of Airshows, a passage of two F16s, among many other surprises. Due to its hybrid format, it will take place in two studios, where around 50 will participate and more than 200 speakers will participate.
The fifth edition of the Portugal Air Summit also features an Air Show that promises to attract large crowds and arouse strong emotions.
