Netflix increases its prices in Belgium, this applies first to new subscribers and then gradually to existing customers
The streaming service Netflix has increased its prices in Belgium, including that of the cheapest formula. A first since its launch in Belgium in 2014. It will thus drop from 7.99 to 8.99 euros. For new subscribers, higher prices apply immediately, existing customers will gradually follow.
In detail, the subscription “basic“(standard definition and maximum one screen at a time) will go from 7.99 to 8.99 euros per month, that says”Standard“(HD and up to two simultaneous screens) from 11.99 to 13.49 euros per month, and the subscription”premium“(Ultra HD and four screens) from 15.99 to 17.99 euros monthly.
The last increase was in early 2020, but at the time only the two most expensive subscriptions had changed in price.
New customers must pay the new prices immediately, they will be notified of the current price change by email from October 14th. It can take up to two months, depending on the invoice date.
Price changes as well as investments in new series the new films as product improvements, justify the American company. “We recently launched the second season of our original Belgian series “In the night” and other new Belgian productions are planned in the near future, notably “The Claus Family 2”, “Diamonds”, “Ground” and the third season of “Sheltered”, our co-production with VRT and The People.
