Global City narratives at the Italian embassy
This Thursday, the Italian Embassy in Lisbon presents a videomapping show on the exterior facade of its building. Global City Narratives is the title of the video installation by Italian digital artist Franz Cerami.
In July 2021 Cerami visited the Portuguese capital on the occasion of the Italian Design Day, invited by ambassador Carlo Formosa, for a conference on design and sustainability in the context of urban art held in collaboration with Lisbon City Council. The dialogue that the artist developed with the embassy and with the city of Lisbon gave way to a video installation lasting 20 minutes, which will be screened this Thursday night between 20:30 and 12:00 on the façade of the Palácio dos Condes de Pombeiro , the headquarters of the embassy located in the neighborhood of Arroios, which is considered the most multicultural neighborhood in the city.
A form of dialogue with the entire population, narrating a global city made up of many journeys and dreams that intersect and intertwine. The uniqueness of Cerami’s artistic process resides in the use of drawing, which through a series of techniques is transferred to video and successively to video projections.
