Gallery without borders – Prague
Galerie Bez hranice is a visitor on an adventure journey through two buildings of the National Gallery in Prague. The permanent exhibition of the National Gallery in the Trade Fair Palace 1796–1918: Art of the Long Century and in the Sculptural Garden of the St. Agnes Monastery in Prague. On Sunday, October 10, 2021, from 2 pm in the Sculpture Garden of the Monastery of St. Anežka Česká, there will be a performance entitled “Dance and the Moving as Body Installation” and on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 6 pm, the Trade Fair Palace, exhibition 1796–1918: Art of the Long Century, will witness a performance called 19th Century (wo) Man: A Contemporary Intervention ”. The selection of paintings was dramaturgically compiled by Sue Schroeder, thus reflecting the intention of the curators of the exhibition Man, World and Ideas, Veronika Hulíková and Otto M. Urban. Multidisciplinary cooperation between dance and fine arts The Gallery without Borders project was established almost a year ago, based on a co-production of the SE.S.TA Center for Choreographic Development with the Core Dance studio, in cooperation with the National Gallery in Prague. It is part of the long-running cycle Dance in the Gallery, which is characterized by interdisciplinary collaboration between dance and fine arts, and its online version took place last year. This year, dance creators from the Czech Republic and the USA, led by American choreographers, art activists and mentor Sue Schroeder, are finally covering themselves live and their dance creations can be seen by every visitor to the Sculpture Garden of the St. Agnes Monastery in Prague (October 10, 2021 from 2 pm) or the Trade Fair Palace. in Prague (October 13, 2021 from 6 pm).
