BOLA – Portugal enters the 5th race in the provisional 2022 calendar (Moto GP)
The Autódromo Internacional do Algarve (AIA), in Portimão, is part of the provisional calendar for the MotoGP World Championship for 2022, as announced this Thursday by the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM).
According to the calendar, the Algarve circuit will host the fifth scheduled race, on April 24, 2022, after starting on March 6, with a night race in Qatar, passing through Indonesia, Argentina and the USA before arriving in Portugal . The season is scheduled to end on November 6 in Valencia.
It will be the fourth MotoGP race at the AIA, which has already hosted the Grand Prix of Portugal in 2020 (Miguel Oliveira’s victory in the last race of the season), the 2021 GP, won by Frenchman Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha), and will also host the Algarve Grand Prix, on 7 November, replacing the Australian GP, canceled due to the pandemic.
The events scheduled for 2022, as races in Indonesia (March 20th) and Finland (July 10th) are subject to homologation from the Mandalika and KyimiRing circuits.
