Already vandalized the Lime’s new electric bikes, red and green, installed on Monday by the American company in Naples as part of the new initiative on bike sharing of the Municipality. Kicked apart, the rims detached, dragged away from the stalls, hidden in inaccessible places or smeared with spray cans, as happened today at Vomero, at the Chiaia funicular, in via Cimarosa. The first 200 brand new bikes, unfortunately, they didn’t even last a week, fallen prey to vandals and thugs, who braved the incessant rain that hit the city, in order to devastate the new smart mobility service.
In Naples, the electric bikes for rent by LIME, among the industry leaders of bike sharing, already present in other major cities such as Milan and Rome (in the capital they have logo Jump and can be booked with Uber), they arrived a few days ago, as anticipated by Fanpage.it. The Municipality of Naples, in fact, in January of this year had extended the public notice to seek operators for another 4 months. The appeal was immediately answered LIME Technology srl which presented an expression of interest, accepted last month by the Town Hall, which envisages a type management model free float, with a fleet of 500 pedal assisted bicycles, on an experimental basis for 3 years. The bikes, by red and green color, will be installed in three installments. The first 200 have been placed this week, another 200 will arrive in a month, another 100 after two months. The bikes can be rented easily through the appropriate App. In Naples there are currently electric bikes offered for bike sharing from Q8.
